CAREWAY Project: Report on gaps in cancer literacy across Europe

How easy is it for people to find, understand and use reliable information about cancer? A new report from the CAREWAY project explores this question through a cross-country analysis of publicly available online information on cancer screening, as well as communication about sexuality and intimacy in cancer care.

The report, “Gaps in Cancer Literacy: A Cross-Country Synthesis,” brings together findings from structured national desk searches conducted in Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Romania. The analysis looked at how cancer-related information is presented online, who provides it, which audiences are reached, and how easily people can navigate the information they need.

CAREWAY – Cancer Awareness, Resources, and Education PathWAY is an Erasmus+ project dedicated to enhancing adults’ access to reliable, understandable and user-friendly cancer information, with particular attention to traditionally underserved groups.
