CURTAIN Partners Publish Scoping Review Protocol

We are pleased to share that CURTAIN partners have published a new peer-reviewed protocol in BMJ Open: “Mapping cancer literacy levels, barriers and facilitators, educational initiatives and misinformation narratives: multiple scoping review protocol.”

Led by Roberta Pastorino of Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS (Italy), the paper sets out the methodology for a collection of scoping reviews carried out as part of the CURTAIN project. The reviews will document the state of cancer literacy, misinformation narratives, and education and training initiatives, and identify the barriers and facilitators to closing cancer literacy gaps across the project’s nine consortium countries: Romania, Portugal, Belgium, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Ukraine, Italy, Ireland and Moldova.

This publication is an important evidence-building milestone for the CURTAIN project, laying the methodological groundwork for the cancer literacy mapping that underpins the project’s work across citizens, patients, healthcare professionals and health systems.
